Prime Minister Modi Chairs PRAGATI Meeting, Reviews Infrastructure Projects Worth Over Rs 62,000 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) meeting on Wednesday, involving coordination between Central and state governments to accelerate project execution across India.

During the session, the prime minister reviewed three major infrastructure projects with a combined value exceeding Rs 62,000 crore. These projects span key sectors such as Road Transport, Power, and Water Resources and are spread across various states and union territories.

Highlighting their strategic significance, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of overcoming implementation challenges and ensuring timely completion. He warned that delays in execution not only raise overall project costs but also deny citizens access to essential infrastructure and services. He called on all stakeholders to improve efficiency and accountability to maximize socio-economic benefits.

The meeting also addressed public grievances related to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The prime minister emphasized the need for swift and effective grievance resolution to protect homebuyers’ rights. He urged state governments to ensure that all eligible real estate projects are registered under the RERA Act and to strictly enforce its provisions to rebuild trust in the housing sector.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi reviewed successful practices in the development of India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem. He highlighted these efforts as potential models for broader implementation across states and union territories, reinforcing the goals of the National Semiconductor Mission.

So far, PRAGATI meetings have reviewed a total of 373 projects with an estimated cost of around Rs 20.64 lakh crore, reflecting the government’s continued focus on infrastructure development and good governance.
