Bollywood Actor Mukul Dev Passes Away at 54

Bollywood is mourning the loss of veteran actor Mukul Dev, who passed away at the age of 54. Known for his memorable role in the 2012 hit film Son of Sardaar, Dev's death has left a deep void in the Indian film industry.

The news of his passing was confirmed by his co-star Vindu Dara Singh, who posted a heartfelt video tribute on Instagram, writing "Rest in peace bro" in the caption. Singh also shared his sorrow on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting on Mukul’s vibrant personality and contribution to cinema.

"Rest in peace my brother Mukul Dev. The time spent with you will always be cherished and Son of Sardaar 2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing," Singh wrote.

Other prominent figures in the industry also expressed their grief. Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who worked with Mukul in Dastak, posted an emotional message. "It’s impossible to put into words what I’m feeling. Mukul was a brother in spirit, an artist whose warmth and passion were unmatched. Gone too soon, too young. Praying for strength and healing for his family and everyone grieving this loss. Miss you meri jaan...until we meet again, Om Shanti," Bajpayee said.

Actress Deepshikha Nagpal shared her disbelief over Mukul's passing by posting a photo of them together on Instagram along with a touching message.

So far, the family has not released an official statement, and the cause of death remains undisclosed, adding a sense of mystery to the tragic news.

Mukul Dev began his Bollywood career in 1996 with Dastak, a film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and written by Vikram Bhatt. His performance as a villain in the film received critical acclaim, establishing him as a versatile actor. The film also featured Sushmita Sen, Manoj Bajpayee, and others in significant roles.
