Oil India Q1 FY27 results showed the Maharatna public sector company’s highest-ever quarterly standalone profit after tax at ₹2,870 crore, compared with ₹813 crore in Q1 FY26. Oil India announced the unaudited standalone and consolidated results on August 7, 2026, through a press release submitted in a BSE filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.

The company attributed the performance to 11% growth in crude oil production and crude oil price realisation of USD 98.73 per barrel during the quarter. Oil India described the standalone PAT increase as 2.5 times year-on-year growth.

At the consolidated level, PAT reached ₹4,027 crore in Q1 FY27 against ₹2,047 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, representing growth of 97% year on year. The results were declared at the company’s Board of Directors meeting held on August 7.

Crude oil production rises from mature fields

Oil India produced 0.950 million metric tonnes of crude oil from its mature oilfields in Q1 FY27, up from 0.853 million metric tonnes in Q1 FY26. The company said the production effort supports the country’s energy security.

Performance indicator Q1 FY27 Q1 FY26
Standalone PAT ₹2,870 crore ₹813 crore
Consolidated PAT ₹4,027 crore ₹2,047 crore
Crude oil production 0.950 MMT 0.853 MMT

On June 27, 2026, the company achieved its highest-ever daily crude oil production of 10,921 metric tonnes, equivalent to 84,109 barrels.

Oil India’s material subsidiary NRL reported PAT of ₹1,305 crore for Q1 FY27, up 167% from ₹488 crore a year earlier. NRL’s gross refining margin stood at USD 35.95 per barrel compared with USD 5.02 per barrel, while distillate yield improved to 87.58% from 85.38%.

Exploration milestones in Andaman and Assam

Alongside its financial and production performance, Oil India reported a natural gas discovery in the Vijaya Puram-3 exploratory well in the Andaman Basin. The company said the discovery reaffirmed the basin’s hydrocarbon potential.

Oil India also completed a highly deviated exploratory well in Assam. The onshore well achieved a horizontal displacement of 3,116 metres, which the company described as its highest-ever such displacement.

The operational milestones add exploration context to the quarterly results disclosed to the exchanges. Investors will track whether higher crude production, price realisation and subsidiary performance continue to support Oil India’s consolidated earnings in subsequent quarters.
