Himalaya Nutravedics India: Himalaya Nutravedics Trademark Suit: Plaintiffs Seek ₹2,00,01,000, Name
Himalaya Nutravedics faces a trademark suit seeking ₹2,00,01,000 and a corporate name change; the company denies allegations and will contest the case.

The Himalaya Nutravedics trademark suit seeks damages of ₹2,00,01,000 and removal of “HIMALAYA” from the company's corporate name, Himalaya Nutravedics India Ltd disclosed in a BSE filing dated October 4, 2026. Himalaya Global Holdings Ltd. and M/s. Himalaya Wellness Company filed the case before the Additional District and Sessions Judge (Dedicated Commercial Court), Bengaluru Rural.
The plaintiffs allege infringement of their registered “HIMALAYA” trademark and passing off through the company's use of “HIMALAYA NUTRAVEDICS” on its goods and “HIMALAYA” in its corporate name. They allege overlapping pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and Ayurvedic businesses, consumer confusion, unfair competition and dilution.
The company strongly denies the allegations and will contest the suit. It considers the matter material because the reliefs sought concern its corporate name and the mark under which it sells its products.
Reliefs sought extend beyond damages
Alongside damages, costs and an unquantified claim for accounts of profits, the plaintiffs seek:
- Permanent injunctions against using “HIMALAYA NUTRAVEDICS”, “HIMALAYA” or deceptively similar marks for goods or services, and trading names containing “HIMALAYA”.
- A direction to apply to the Registrar of Companies to remove “HIMALAYA” from the corporate name.
- Delivery of goods and materials bearing the disputed mark for erasure or destruction.
- Rendition of accounts of profits from June 16, 2022, until disposal of the suit.
The plaintiffs also filed three applications seeking ex-parte ad-interim injunctions restricting use of the disputed expression in the company's products, business and names while proceedings remain pending.
The company said financial implications are not ascertainable at this stage and depend on the outcome of proceedings.
