Capital Trust gold loans now operate through six dedicated branches, with monthly disbursements of Rs 5–6 crore, the company said in a BSE filing on October 5, 2026. The NBFC outlined the expansion of its gold lending business and its A-Eye technology platform for valuation and custody checks.

Launched in October 2025 from two branches in Aligarh and Delhi, the business has disbursed more than Rs 45 crore cumulatively across over 1,800 customers. Gold and secured loan assets under management stood at Rs 35 crore.

The first branch in Aligarh disbursed over Rs 19 crore in its initial eleven months and became profitable in its fourth month, according to the company. All six branches use the same operating model and technology platform.

AI checks and centralised loan approvals

Capital Trust said its platform addresses valuation, custody and cash risks through separate controls:

  • Valuation: Two testers assess each ornament independently on separate calibrated machines, while A-Eye generates its own karat, weight and value readings. The branch manager confirms the valuation, with Head Office providing final approval and disbursement.
  • Custody: A-Eye tracks sealed packets, flags unusual access and supports daily reconciliation. Head Office controls strong room access and remotely locks the inner safe.
  • Cash handling: Gold branches have no cash counters. Repayments run through the company’s app, which also supports round-the-clock top-ups against pledged gold.

The company described the branches as paperless, with digital, time-stamped records. The model is designed for 20-minute loan disbursement and gold release; these are design targets rather than reported turnaround results.

Funding and provisional Q2FY27 position

Two gold loan co-lending partnerships are operating on the platform. Capital Trust also reported term loan sanctions from IDFC FIRST Bank and Shriram Finance, without specifying sanction amounts.

Company-wide AUM stood at about Rs 300 crore as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 239.6 crore in Q1FY27. Around 80% was secured or described by the company as carrying zero credit risk. Gross NPA was about 2.5%, net NPA was 0.0%, and debt to tangible net worth remained below one times. These Q2FY27 figures are provisional, unaudited and subject to Board approval and limited review.

The company outlined cluster-led gold branch expansion and additional co-lending and funding partnerships. It also plans continued partner-led MSME lending through its existing network of more than 250 branches.
