Bharti Airtel Ltd launched Airtel IQ Gateway through its enterprise arm, Airtel Business, on October 5, 2026, according to a BSE filing. The platform brings SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, business voice and number verification together, allowing enterprises to manage customer communications and multiple service providers from a single control plane.

Airtel described the offering as India's first business communications platform with telco-grade network intelligence for safe enterprise messaging. The company said the nationwide launch follows successful trial deployments across select banks, financial institutions and other industry collaborations.

According to the release, the platform is DPDP-compliant and combines Airtel's fraud protection capabilities with network insights. It targets problems arising from fragmented communication systems, including unreliable delivery reporting, manual message-template management and artificially inflated traffic costs.

Routing, verification and fraud controls

Airtel said businesses using separate communication vendors often have limited visibility into whether messages actually reach customers. It also identified international OTP pumping by bots as a source of inflated bills, with risks for enterprises in banking and financial services, government, e-commerce and logistics.

  • Automated vendor failover and intelligent routing enable switching to backup service providers and routing communications across SMS, WhatsApp, RCS and voice.
  • Native DLT integration automates connections with the message-template system, addressing manual handling of pre-approved templates.
  • Airtel IQ Verify evaluates network, device and usage signals to help identify fraudulent account creation and protect authentic customers.
  • Silent Authentication validates whether an entered mobile number matches the active SIM in the device, replacing SMS OTPs for login and SIM-binding flows.

The company said these capabilities are designed to reduce fraud losses, billing spikes from SMS pumping, and SIM-swap and social-engineering risks. Network-level delivery reports provide greater transparency into message delivery.

Deployment options for enterprises

IQ Gateway can integrate with existing communication workflows and vendor ecosystems. Enterprises can choose on-premises deployment or Airtel-hosted SaaS, depending on their security requirements and preferences. A unified dashboard offers real-time analytics and delivery reporting.

Sharat Sinha, CEO of Airtel Business, said the platform extends Airtel's network-level fraud prevention capabilities to enterprise customers, including banks, government departments and logistics firms.

Airtel said the platform would be available for demonstrations at its India Mobile Congress booth from October 7–10, 2026.
