Mumbai, September 16, 2025 – Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) division has secured a significant contract from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) for units 5 and 6 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) in Tamil Nadu.

 

This multi-faceted mechanical package involves installing key components for the 2X1000 MWe project. L&T's scope includes the installation of the nuclear reactor and turbine systems, complete with the generator and condenser. The company will also be responsible for the installation of sea water systems, polar and trestle cranes, and other essential equipment.

The project's extensive requirements further include the installation of piping, supports, and structural steelwork. L&T's team will also handle the anti-corrosion coating, painting, and insulation of various structures on-site, followed by a full testing and commissioning process.

This new order underscores L&T's proven expertise and commitment to India's clean energy goals, solidifying its position as a key player in the nation's nuclear power infrastructure development.
