Karnataka Bank tenure extension: Karnataka Bank Ltd has extended the tenure of Ratheesh R as Head-Training in the General Manager cadre for a further period of one year, effective August 17, 2026, the lender said in a BSE filing on Monday.

The continuation is on a contract basis. The bank disclosed the change in senior management under Regulation 30 and other applicable provisions of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.

Experienced banker to continue in training role

Ratheesh R joined Karnataka Bank as Head-Training at its Staff Training College in Mangaluru on August 17, 2023. He was appointed in the General Manager cadre on a three-year contract. The latest decision extends that tenure by another year from the stated effective date.

According to the filing, he is a seasoned banking professional with more than 39 years of experience. He began his career in 1984 with the erstwhile Corporation Bank and retired as a General Manager from Union Bank of India in April 2023.

  • He has worked in export credit, risk evaluation and stressed-asset recovery management.
  • He also served in a faculty-assistance capacity for NIBM, Pune.

Qualifications disclosed to exchanges

The bank said Ratheesh R holds the CAIIB qualification and has completed certifications from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. These cover credit, ethics, strategic management and risk.

Karnataka Bank submitted the disclosure to the BSE and the National Stock Exchange. Its BSE scrip code is 532652, while its NSE symbol is KTKBANK. The filing identified the reason for the management change as an extension of tenure; the disclosure on relationships between directors was marked not applicable.
